Job Description

Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI) is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, talented, and diverse individuals. Primary work location is in Chesapeake, VA in support of a customer based in Port Hueneme, California.


Roles:

The candidate responsible for this position is expected to provide systems engineering support for the Enterprise Lifecycle Product Management Integrated Decision Environment (ePLM IDE) program, in support of the Air & Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) Distance Support (DS) effort. The candidate will work to ensure that all systems engineering requirements under Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) technical authority are installed, configured, and maintained as required per applicable directives and instructions.

Job Requirements

Experience


  • 5-7 years actively working as System Engineer (background in IT specifically Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC))

  • 5+ years of computer networking experience with; at least 2 years in a DoD environment is a plus

  • 5+ years Microsoft Active Directory and Windows operating systems experience and/or certifications is a plus

  • Experience with requirements gathering and analysis

  • Experience developing and executing test and evaluation process

  • Familiarity with software configuration management processes to include source control management.

  • Ability to develop system architecture diagrams in MS Visio

  • Familiarity with MS Excel and other MS Office tools

  • Ability to work with cross functional team (i.e. project manager, logisticians, engineers, program analyst)

  • Ability to work independently with geographically dispersed team

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Solid understanding of one or two programming languages (e.g. C#, C++, Javascript, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a plus


  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a government security clearance
