Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer





Job Responsibilities:




  1. Create and maintain mechanical equipment layouts, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOM), design mechanical components, and create construction documents of designed components (detail drawings).




  2. Enter component and BOM information into our ERP system.




  3. Communicate with vendors and fabricators for parts sourcing.




  4. Responsible for assembly and testing of prototypes.




  5. Coordinate build and purchasing activities internally with suppliers.




  6. Create project documentation, including manuals.




  7. Provide technical phone support to troubleshoot.




  8. Some travel to customer’s facility to install equipment will be required up to 5% within the East Coast.




Qualifications:


Mechanically inclined creative thinker


Able to work with periodic/minimal supervision and guidance


Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written


Able to work effectively both individually and with a team


At least 3 years’ experience in mechanical design


Associates or Bachelor’s Degree helpful but not required


Working knowledge of pneumatic actuators and their application/control


Working knowledge of sensors and their application


Working knowledge of linear guides and their application


Machine design experience, preferably with machine tool accessories/equipment


Understanding of manufacturing processes relative to components designed


Proficient with SolidWorks 3d design


Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel
